Lucky. It’s a word that gets thrown at May (Brea Grant – who also wrote the screenplay) as she tries to convince the police that a masked man has been invading her house, and from her agent Rob (Leith M Burke) when he tells her that she has another book deal. It’s the men telling her how she should feel after an assault that didn’t kill her, taken further when it’s implied that her achievements and success aren’t deserved.
May is a successful author of women’s self-help books though in the first scenes with her agent her latest book has been rejected. In the car-park she hears a noise before driving to what appears to be an idyllic picket fence home and her husband Ted (Dhruv Uday Singh).
