Centre for industrial biotechnology opened Islamabad April 17, 2021 Islamabad : COMSATS Joint Centre for Industrial Biotechnology (CCIB) was inaugurated today in Tianjin, China. The Centre is to become the regional hub for research and development, capacity building and technology transfer in the areas of industrial biotechnology for COMSATS’ 27 Member Countries including Pakistan. The Centre has come to existence with the joint efforts of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) and the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), China, the latter being affiliated with COMSATS as its Centre of Excellence. Ambassador says Turkmenistan could export 3,000MW electricity to Pakistan at a cheaper rate ISLAMABAD: Turkmenistan faces no issues while laying a gas pipeline and electricity transmission lines in Afghanistan for onward supplies to Pakistan, the ambassador of the Central Asian country in Islamabad said on Friday. Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov, while speaking at a seminar at the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS), also said that Turkmenistan could provide 3,000-megawatt electricity to Pakistan at rates lower than the tariff being offered in the country. The seminar, titled ‘Turkmenistan – Home of Year of Peace and Trust, 2021’ was held in collaboration with Pakistan in the World Journal and the Sidhu Welfare.
