As Indonesia leaps into the Smart City 4.0 platform, Jakarta is seeking to fulfill the needs of its citizens through a solid framework that combines technology and innovation with collaboration and co-creation, for a sustainable city of tomorrow.
Jakarta had a glimpse of a better way of life during the nationwide lockdown in April this year. At the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak, its 10 million residents enjoyed clean air and smooth traffic in a city notorious for its clogged roads.
But it need not take a pandemic for urban dwellers to seek better living conditions. In the long run, smart cities are key to enhancing the quality of life, promoting economic growth and building a sustainable environment, panelists of the Philippines-Japan Business Investment Virtual Forum 2020 say.
