A record 50 nominees are on the ballot for this year’s Stratford and District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
“I’m humbled by the community outpouring for these businesses and how they’ve been able to adapt to what’s been going on,” chamber general manager Eddie Matthews said. “The word we’re all tired of hearing is pivot, but that’s what they’ve been able to do is retool and rebrand themselves. Grade 6 students and their parents from across the Avon Maitland District school board have been enjoying some fun and educational activities at home this week, thanks to the school board and Technical Training Group’s annual FunTECH program.
Adapted for the pandemic this year, the program’s first Spring Break, at-home edition saw participating students bring home one of three activity kits – a culinary kit, a construction kit or a transportation kit – that included tools, materials, online tutorial videos and information about the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and skilled trades in Ontario.
