Former Olympian Darsha in charge of SLA Women’s Affairs Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.)
Former Sri Lanka Olympian and Asian Championship Medallist Damayanthi Darsha, was appointed to the Women’s Affairs Committee of Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA).
The Executive Committee of SLA appointed the heads of 11 sub-committees, which would look into the development of activities for the period from 2021 to 2025.
Darsha, who is also the Vice-President of SLA, is the youngest Sri Lankan athlete to take part in Olympics where she ran in the 200metres event at the 1992 Games in Barcelona, Spain still as a schoolgirl.
Darsha was the first choice for the Olympic Games in 1992 and she acquitted herself creditably while qualifying for the second-round in the 200metres event.
