ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Assembly was informed that the Single National Curriculum for Grade Pre-1 to V will be implemented throughout the country from August this year.
Responding to a question during Question Hour, Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Profession Training Wajiha Akrm said all the federating units have been taken on board in preparing the SNC. She said in the second phase, the SNC for Grade 6 to 8 will be implemented from next academic year, while for Grade 9 to 12 be implemented from academic year 2023-24.

LAHORE: Welfare Association of Wapda Engineers (WAWE), on Tuesday, has called off its protest following the assurance given by the Wapda authorities about the acceptance of their demands.
A nation-wide peaceful protest was launched earlier this week by Wapda engineers, wearing black ribbons at work places on the call of Welfare Association of Wapda Engineers (WAWE).
Protesting engineers demanded recognition of legal status of WAWE by Wapda authority. condemned what they called unlawful explanation of the Secretary General by the Director (Labour & Welfare) Wapda.
They also demanded approval of Technical Allowance for Wapda Engineers @ 1.5 times basic pay at par with various Provincial and Federal Departments. During protest, the Chairman Wapda took notice of the situation and instructed the representatives of the Wapda Authority to listen and resolve the genuine issues of Wapda engineers.
LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Wednesday demanded technical allowance for teacher engineers working in engineering universities of the province.
UET Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar wrote to the secretary of regulation technical allowance is being paid to all engineers working in Punjab province. The governor has allowed Technical Allowance at 1.5 times of the initial Basic Pay Scales to engineers registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council and holders of engineering degree from the accredited engineering programs of higher education institutions duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
“The Board of Governors in its 34th meeting has approved Training Allowance equal to one basic pay per month frozen on basic pay scale 2015 for all engineering faculty members of Government Engineering Academy Punjab, Lahore in addition to their normal salary and other allowances with immediate effect”, the letter reads.
