BLACKSBURG, Va. - The No. 5 Florida State softball team (38-8, 15-2) used a fierce seventh inning rally to take down No. 22 Virginia Tech in front of a raucous crowd at Tech Softball Park on Friday night. The win secured another series win for the Seminoles, and they have now won all six of their ACC series and still hold first place in the ACC standings. Kathryn Sandercock was credited with the save which made her the school record holder for both saves in a single season (6) and career saves (14). The Hokies came out firing as a single and double gave the Hokies the early lead. Ali DuBois was able to work out of the inning as the Hokies left the bases loaded. The Seminoles responded in the second inning as Katie Dack and Michaela Edenfield drew back-to-back walks to put runners in scoring position with two outs for Josie Muffley. After falling behind in the count 0-2, Muffley hit a hard groundball to second that was unable to be corralled, and Dack raced home to tie the game. The H
BLACKSBURG, Va. - The No. 5 Florida State softball team (37-8, 14-2) used some gritty baserunning and clutch pitching to take down No. 22 Virginia Tech (33-13, 12-7) on Thursday night at Tech Softball Park in Blacksburg, Va.
Thursday's win marks the 2,200th win in program history and was the Seminoles' 10th win over a ranked opponent this season. The Seminoles have won 16 out of their last 18 games and have now won six consecutive games on the road.
After each team stranded two runners in the first inning, Hallie Wacaser got on base with two outs thanks to a single up the middle. Josie Muffley singled, but the right fielder couldn't handle the exchange, and Wacaser went from first to home to give the Noles their first run of the game.
The Hokies looked to have tied the game at one in the bottom of the second, but Kaley Mudge robbed a home run in left field to keep the Hokies scoreless.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The fifth-ranked Florida State softball team (36-8, 13-2) hits the road once again for its fourth-straight road series against a ranked opponent as they head to Blacksburg, Va., to take on No. 22 Virginia Tech (33-12, 12-6).
This is the first time in school history that the Seminoles have played four consecutive series against a ranked opponent on the road. The Noles last four road series include at No. 3 Oklahoma State, at No. 10 Duke, at No. 6 Clemson and now at No. 22 Virginia Tech.
The two teams will play on Thursday (7 p.m.), Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.) at Tech Softball Park in Blacksburg. Thursday's game can be seen on ESPN2 while Friday's game will be on ACC Network Extra. The series finale can be seen on the ACC Network.
The Seminoles will be making their first trip to Blacksburg since 2017. The Seminoles have not lost to the Hokies in Blacksburg since 2012.
