Homeless accommodation A student accommodation block on Cowley Road could be transformed into supported living accommodation for the homeless. The application by A2 Dominion was made on January 6, retrospectively, as the use has already started. Using Canterbury House as temporary accommodation for the homeless is being paid for by Oxford City Council as part of its plan to get rough sleepers in off the streets during the pandemic. A public comment said the council should have communicated its plans to the community better, the other disagrees with housing 76 homeless people in one location and says accommodation should have been spread across the city.

The AJ 40 under 40 architects are co-founders of strictly principled practice We Made That, which only works for public and third-sector clients
Established in 2006 by architect Holly Lewis, 36, and Oliver Goodhall, 37, We Made That has since built up a reputation based as much on what it won’t do as what it will. Seeking positive outcomes for communities including those often marginalised by regeneration, the Southwark-based practice has produced a long list of ‘things it won’t do’ and, most notably, has a policy of working only with public and third-sector clients.
