Quantum Science has moved into the Techspace One development at the science and technology hub. First set up in 2018, the firm uses nanotechnology to develop advanced materials for use in the semiconductor, environmental and biomedical sectors. It has previously been based at Sci-Tech Daresbury’s Campus Technology Hub, but has relocated to the larger new headquarters after enjoying two-and-a-half years of healthy growth. Founder and chief executive Dr Hao Pang said: “It’s a particularly exciting time for science and innovation companies as demand increases for new and exciting services across many different sectors. “That’s why we are really pleased to be able to move into the new Techspace One building at Sci-Tech Daresbury and make use of its incredible community and research space to support our future growth and product development plans.

The developers behind the Halton science and technology campus are pressing ahead with the next phase of the scheme, a 180,000 sq ft office and laboratory cluster, citing high occupier demand.
Developer Langtree and its partners Halton Council and the Science and Technology Facilities Council have submitted a planning application for the five-building Project Ultraviolet following a successful 2020 for Sci-Tech Daresbury.
Last year, 28 tenants agreed to take space at the science park, according to the consortium.
“The strong demand in the market has given us the confidence to proceed with the first steps of the next phase of development within the campus,” said John Downes, chief executive officer of Langtree and chairman of Sci-Tech Daresbury.
Sci-tech Daresbury SCI-Tech Daresbury has appointed five companies to join its ‘exclusive’ business growth scheme. Potentialisation, Inspirze, SMETER, Circada and Inventia have been chosen to join the Future Club, a programme which will provide technical and business support to the start-ups. Chairman John Downes said: “Our status as a global innovation leader attracts both new and established businesses on an international scale, and collaborative schemes such as the Future Club are crucial in enabling us to provide companies with dynamic networking and funding opportunities. “UK businesses have needed more help than ever in 2020 due to the impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and now is a particularly important time for us to be investing in the support and growth of science and technology companies.
