They say it is safe, but the big question still remains, why were the chemicals even being used. Mountain view police are trying to figure out what happened behind this boarded up door. Two people were found dead inside unit 17 almost ten hours after the apartment complex on california avenue was being a straighted. A little scary having it that close where you live. Reporter daryl smith is the president of the homeowners association. He says around dinnertime, someone called 911 to report an odd smell in the area. It unit with a a gas type of smell. It was more sulfur, more like eggs. Reporter police say they were at extremely dangerous levels. Four of our officers were affected by the gas and so they had to be treated at the scene.
