Spoke to a neighbor who made the 911 call. Reporter yeah, i sure did. The neighbor heard a popping noise around 4 30 this morning, looked across the street to the complex and saw flames coming from the fourth floor. I grabbed the phone and called 911. The first thing i thought is theres elderly people and the building. Reporter carol and leigh couldnt believe the sight before their eyes. Its not something you expect at 4 00 in the morning. This is always such a quiet neighborhood. From the fourth floor, there was visible fire showing. Reporter one of the Biggest Challenges was evacuating more than 40 elderly and disabled people. Some could walk. Some could not. That was the best big test here. Reporter extra First Responders helped guide them down the stairs.
