They were hearing from some of the last witnesses and the deliberations would begin. Grand jury deliberations is unlike a criminal trial. Youre not allowed to talk about the case until everything has been presented. Grand jurors can discuss the case as they go along. Thats why we have been indications that perhaps after all the testimony had been heard that it perhaps wouldnt take that long for a decision to be reached. Highly consequential week in the russia investigation. Were now one guilty plea and two indictments into the probe and it either looks like the end or the beginning of the end. And where things go from here is anybodys guess. What does seem clear tonight is as the amount of testimony and documentary evidence grows it will get harder and harder for anyone involved to tell flat out falsehoods when the accumulated evidence might say otherwise. i m ashleigh banfield. you re watching cnn s continuing coverage of yet another school shooting. this one coming to us from oregon, a suburb of portland, oregon, called troutdale. reynolds high school. the scene of the latest incident, i can report to you this, what you see on your screen, the school shooter has been neutralized. in other words, dead. that is why those heavy police presence has been able to report back to us that the scene is secure. the kids in that high school are being evacuated on their second last day of school. they are coming out of that high school, streaming out with hands above their heads or hands on their heads. and what they re coming out to see is this remarkable police presence, tactical team presence, heavy machinery and weaponry. heavy armed vehicles, et cetera. the look on their faces really tells it all, doesn t it? all too often we are seeing
