NWA Power opened with adding a new way to obtain points in the Champions Series, as the alternates will face off in a four corners match with the winner getting seven points for their team and the loser costing their team three points.
Kenzie Paige (Team Kamille/Idol) defeated Lady Frost (Team Stevens/Terrell)
Frost and Paige showed some grappling skills early on, but Frost didn’t take kindly to being taken over and hit a hard knee and several strikes. Frost grounded Paige with a sleeper hold, then hit a release fisherman’s suplex, but Paige kicked out following a pinfall attempt.
NWA Powerrr (Episode 36)
Streamed July 27, 2021 on the FITE TV
The show opened with a video package on the Champions Series and this week’s matches. The rules are that a pin or a submission gives the winning team five points, a draw gives both teams two points, and a DQ gives the winning team three points. If there’s a tie in the standings between two teams at the end of the points portion, the team that won their matches in the shortest amount of time will advance…
Powell’s POV: Hey, my NWA Powerrr reviews are back. I skipped doing coverage of the Powerrr Surge edition and last week’s show, which was a draft episode that established the teams for the Champions Series but did not have any matches. Nick Aldis basically took control of his team’s picks and upset Melina on the draft show, Aron Stevens comedically struggled to get a word in with Taryn Terrell when they were making their picks, and the other team captains were essentially on the same page.
NWA Power opened with a match right at the start of the show as the first match in the Champions Series: a team-by-team contest where the winners and captains receive open title shots or a chance to protect their title should they possess it.
Team Kamille and Austin Idol battles Team Aron Stevens and Taryn Terrell while Team NIck Aldis and Melina takes on Team Pope and Velvet Sky.
Thom Latimer (Team Kamille) defeated Marshe Rockett (Team Stevens)
Latimer went right after Rockett, showing his experience. Rockett endured the early assault and hit an armdrag on Latimer. Rockett hit a dropkick to send Latimer to the apron. Rockett got his neck pulled into the top rope and Latimer came back in with stomps and a neckbreaker.
