The reception desk and concierge had plastic screens erected across them to protect the staff and guests, and there was a smattering of hand sanitizer stations along with signage about social distancing.
I arrived an hour before the official check-in time of 3 p.m. but the front desk checked me in regardless. There was no wait at all since no other guests were even in the check-in area when I arrived. Likely because of this lower occupancy level, I was given a slight upgrade from a Sonesta Guest Room to a Deluxe King Room, which otherwise would have cost $159 per night. The only real difference between the room I originally booked and the room I was given was a larger bed than the usual Queen, but it was still very much appreciated.
