Departments to deploy body cameras on officers. Len ramirez is live with san joses plan to roll them out and why its taken them so long. This is not the first time this issue has come up before. There have been two previous tries. It never went beyond the pilot stage. In this particular program theyre talking about starting a pilot next fall that would involve 12 officers wearing body cameras over a fourmonth period. Reporter from san rafael to tulsa, police are making body cams Standard Equipment like handcuffs or a gun. In the heart of silicon valley, San Jose Police have yet to adopt the latest technology, though that may be one step closer. We need technology that functions well and thats affordable. District is raising its rates. In fremont the lack of water is the not only concern. The aging infrastructure badly needs repairing and customers will have to pay for it. You will pay higher rates for doing your part to help. With this rate increase, the more water you conserve, the higher your bill will increase percentage wise. A spokesman from the Water District says a decrease in use means less money for them and to make up for the lost revenue, they are proposing an 8 increase. In an effort to save water, the city council will consider new remodels homes to install plumbing system that recycles water through purple pipes. The recycled water could then be used for watering. The greywater when you wash your clothes will be diverted to your landscaping so i think homeowners will particularly appreciate that in these times of drought. City acknowledges the requirements would add to the overall price of the house but says the need to conserve water makes it necessary. In santa cruz man

Coast to try to determine what killed a sperm whale. A necropsy is under way on this 50foot sperm whale which washed up on this pacifica beach yesterday. It was found starving and bleeding from its head. Never seen a whale wash up here before. We come running out here all the time, and, uhm, its unusual and sad. Reporter its an adult male. Experts at the Marine Mammal center and the academy of sciences will try to figure out how it died. I just am more concerned they will be able to pull it out. Worried about the smell. Reporter this is the second whale to wash up on bay area beaches this year. A rare pygmy sperm whale washed ashore at Point Reyes National seashore in january later found dead once biologists arrived. Its not necropsy. Its part of life and nature. Its sad to see a large beautiful animal like that dead. Reporter biologists havent decided yet if they will then leave the decomposing whale onshore or tow it out to sea.
