weighing the fact that he s actually infected what it means to be a republican today in modern conservatism and what that means today. they have to wrestle with that. they cannot simply distance themselves from him. yeah. to the extent you say as a metaphor, this may metastasize. this may become something that is so endemic and so intertwined with the republican party that when you have oversight or you have the congress doing things, you have to look at whether it is then team coup. you mentioned sort of that way that they re trying to have it both ways. the ap has reported that republicans have generally embraced trump but they re quite muted after the referral. senator republicans aren t really stepping up. one times reporter said he s never felt more like a product from the past. i m curious as to the interplay between this process. i mentioned before, there is a reason why trump wanted clinton and biden to be perceived as just under investigation, even
repeated breaks today. there were two or three of them or cipollone left the interview and then went into a separate room to confer with his lawyers. so i think there is a chance that he invoked and executive privilege and wanted did not want to talk about a statement to donald trump. the question of privilege has loomed over all this. your point is worth highlighting again. that s communications he has with the president, not with john eastman. as well as those other people. presumably we have seen this time and time again, we saw the lawyer for mike pence and others. there s a little bit of an ax to grind for the people who are on team anti coup on team coup that is happening in that white house? yes, and they did. they fought hard and did a nice job of that narrative on
themselves. they can call themselves that. i would call it team lawful. low bar. if you break the law, you put yourself in danger. so, that s team lawful slash team reasonable self interest, versus team coup, team gangster. and if there is a coup going, and there is people in the streets, and they re chanting about assassination and they are armed and they have blueprints and they have recon. yes, it is understandable that yes, people high up in government was not to look around and go, wait are you team lawful or team to? and people died that day, people died days after, as we know. so, it s very understandable thing to double check that. at a minimum, it could be way worse. [inaudible] it s very bizarre. i travel all over the world and all over the country. it s very bizarre to look at one agent and say, i trust you but not that guy. they work as teams. the presidential and vice presidential car is called a beast, because it weighs so much and they fly in when they travel oversea
