Valerie Farrell is new head of HR at Teagasc

TEAGASC has appointed Valerie Farrell as head of its human resources department. The appointment was approved at a recent meeting of the Teagasc Authority and announced yesterday to coincide with International Women’s Day, which celebrates the achievements of female leaders.
A Bagenaltown native, Valerie worked for Intel Ireland from 2000 to 2004, and before that she was a senior HR representative with Xilinx Ireland for five years. She began her career spending time with both Lombard & Ulster and Coca-Cola.
Valerie qualified with a degree in business studies from the University of Limerick and completed a master’s in change management and innovation at the University of Brighton. She also holds a diploma in strategic management from Henley & IMI.

Teagasc has appointed Valerie Farrell as Head of its Human Resources Department in the organisation. The appointment was approved at a recent meeting of the Teagasc Authority. This is being announced today to coincide with International Women’s Day which celebrates the achievements of female leaders.

Valerie Farrell joined the Teagasc HR Department in 2005 as a HR Services Manager. She became a HR Operations Manager in 2008, and since 2010 has worked as HR Manager and HR Partner in the Knowledge Transfer and Operations Directorates.

Paul Maher has been appointed as the new Head of International Relations and Corporate Strategy in Teagasc. The appointment was approved by the Teagasc Authority at its meeting on Wednesday, 3 March. He takes over from Dr Lance O’Brien who retires in April having served in Teagasc for over 40 years in a range of strategic planning and developmental roles.
