(ABC 6 News) - When the pandemic hit, spending time outdoors was one of the most popular activities for families.
But the City of Rochester had to make budget cuts and the Parks and Recreation department got hurt.
On Monday, City officials approved this year s funding priorities using $2 million from the November parks referendum. That raised the average homeowner s property taxes to $33 annually to invest in parks.
Even when the water is frozen and the leaves are off of trees, people say it s bringing them life. Sometimes you just need a break and sometimes the scenery helps, said Teagan Ingvaldson, resident.
