zelenskyy saying that borodianka is even more dreadful than b bucha. there were more than 300 believed to be dead in bucha and in borodianka, believed to be even larger. he also said when i interviewed him, there s a lot of rubble but doesn t have much hope of survivals. the city is completely destroyed in terms of its infrastructure. the power lines are down. water and gas supply pipelines destroyed. even sewage pipelines are destroyed so effectively, the city was turned into the prehistoric conditions and it s uninhabitable at the moment. so right now, this is what people, ukrainians on the eastern side of the country are looking at. they re looking at what the russian forces left as they departed from the kyiv area,
it s just absolutely awful. there s no more ruthless target than a train station in ukraine today because those refugees are largely, as you say, ivan, made up of women and children. the men cannot leave the country and elderly people. it s a deliberate civilian, potential crime. ivan watson, thanks so much. joining us now, a member of ukraine s parliament. it s good to have you. russia is claiming once again this attack is fake as they claimed about bucha, as they claim about what we ve seen in mariupol so far. they say in effect ukraine is killing its own people deliberately to somehow pin it on russia. what s your response to that? thank you, jim and bianna, for having me. they say this nonsense since 2014. remember the mh 17. they said ukrainians hit the malaysian boeing and everyone
casualties there. the ukrainian officials say there is no doubt that russian forces knew exactly what they were doing. russia, of course, is denying responsibility as they have been throughout this war. instead, accusing the ukrainians of killing their own people. think about that. in the last hour, we spoke to someone who went to the scene and saw the devastation firsthand just moments after the attack. we saw all of the people on the platform. about two minutes later is, as went to pick up flowers, we felt the explosion. multiple of five to ten booms. it s hard to know which ones were missiles and which ones were air defense intercepting. one of our individuals at the warehouse said he could see the missiles were so close, he could see the wings on the missile as it was flying before it was intercepted by ukrainian, some sort of response and did not
area. that created a backlog of people. there were more people even than normal at that train station when it was struck by a russian missile, just many people waiting there trying to get out. so when you hear the russians accusing ukrainians of actually doing this saying it s a provo provocation, it s incredibly hard to believe they would even attempt to make that claim considering what you see as sort of a strike on the railway and then a double tap strike on this train station. listen, it s just lazy, it s gross, and it s obscene to hear them respond this way. brianna keilar, thank you. cnn international correspondent ivan watson. it s chilling given you rode with evacuees along a similar route yesterday, just to remind our viewers that ukraine has one of the largest rail systems in europe. talk about what you heard from them and some of the fears that they expressed to you then.
after, even in the court, said it was russian controlled forces that did it. so they do it for years, trying to lie to the face of the whole world, trying to say something that ukrainians are killing their own people, absolute nonsense because we did not have any casualties until russian soldiers came and started our cities and i m sorry to say, but we have just a few minutes ago, we had new numbers and now it s 50 people that died because of these attacks and five of the 50 people were children. this is inhuman. absolutely inhuman, and when russian troops cannot do anything on the ground, they re just behaving like terrcovert terrorists and send them to train stations, maternity wards, hospitals and schools, that s what they do every day. it s just heartbreaking to hear you update us with those
