UPDATE (6:15 p.m.) – Mayor Walt Maddox remarked on the events of Monday s shooting at The Links/Greens apartment complexes.
The mayor, who visited the injured officers at DCH Regional Medical Center shortly after they were transported there from the scene, took to Twitter late Monday evening to commend the first responders who handled the incident earlier that day. At DCH this evening, I had the opportunity to visit with our two officers who were injured in the line of duty, and express the City’s sincere appreciation for their bravery, Maddox wrote in a tweet. Their courageous actions remind us how fortunate we are to have TPD serving our community. .I also want to thank Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue and the DCH Health System for providing outstanding response and care to our heroes.
