TCI elections were ‘free and fair’ - Caricom reports

The 2021 general election was not impeded by the Covid-19 pandemic and was in Caricom’s estimation free and fair”.
This is according to a preliminary statement issued by the three-member Caricom Election Observer Mission (CEOM) on Saturday, February 20.
The observers were chief of mission Dr Robert Stephen Mahadeo Surujbally of Guyana, Ian Hughes of Antigua and Barbuda, and Felix Gregoire of Dominica.
The mission was supported by Valique Gomes of the Directorate for Foreign and Community Relations of the Caricom Secretariat.
The team said: Overall, the CEOM is of the view that the general elections which took place in the TCI on February 19, 2021, were free and fair and the people of the TCI must be commended for this.
