Lynchburg City Council decided to set aside money this week as a safeguard for purposes of keeping Sandusky Elementary School and T.C. Miller Elementary School for Innovation open for another
Lynchburg Mayor Stephanie Reed made an announcement at Tuesday night’s city council meeting: City Manager Wynter Benda has been asked by five members of council to present options for funding to keep two division elementary schools — slated for closure — open for another year.
Lynchburg City Schools officials have a tentative schedule for elementary school attendance rezoning after the school board’s work session Tuesday, and expect a draft map to be ready April 9.
At upcoming school board meetings, LCS administration will be premiering new draft elementary attendance zones, prepared using demographic information and factoring in the upcoming closure of two schools.
