14-year-old central El Paso boy shot in head while playing with gun has died UPDATE, July 28: A 14-year-old boy who was accidentally shot in the head while playing with a gun earlier this month has died of his injuries. The boy s shooting occurred back on July 2 at a home on Tays Street in central El Paso while he and a 14-year-old friend were playing with a loaded handgun, police said. The friend told officers that the injured boy was shot during a drive-by, but police said their investigation revealed that wasn t true. The EPPD gang unit was expected to present charges against the friend to the juvenile probation department, but there s no word as to whether that happened.
