It was a week of upsets and our first conference championships as we’re less than two weeks from the 2021 NCAA selection show. Any discussion of great games over the last week has to start with a matchup between the two teams atop the national rankings. Lindenwood showed why it might still be the team to beat in the Midwest Region, taking down conference rival and top ranked UIndy 12-10. Additionally, Roberts Wesleyan came up with a program-changing victory, beating then No. 8 Grand Valley State 12-9.
In conference action there three champions were crowned over the weekend. However, unlike NCAA basketball there is no automatic bid for conference championships given only 12 teams make up the women’s lacrosse tournament field in 2021.
