Two descendants of James Forten donated the Forten family Bible to the Museum of the American Revolution. It will be included as part of the "Black Founders: The Forten Family of Philadelphia" exhibit and will remain on display after the exhibit closes on November 26. The family Bible has been in the Forten family for six generations and includes birth, marriage and death records for members of the family doing back to 1839. As part of the donation, future members of the Forten family will be able to visit the museum and add their names to the book.
