Queensland’s screen industry is revelling in a long pipeline of film and television productions with the US hit show The Wilds Season 2 starting filming on the Gold Coast this week.
Cast and crew will utilise the Village Roadshow Studios, with location filming in Gold Coast Hinterland locations and beaches.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the hit Amazon Original/ABC Signature series starring Rachel Griffiths, was just one of many high-profile projects that will be in production over the coming months.
“This is boom time for Queensland’s screen industry and it means jobs for Queenslanders, and millions of dollars for our economy,” the Premier said.

Nickelodeon International and Network Ten partner for live action series

Nickelodeon International and Network Ten have announced a partnership to create Taylor’s Island, an original live action series. The series is planned to be shot in Queensland and produced by Fremantle.

Nickelodeon International and Network Ten, today announced their first-ever partnership with the greenlight of Taylor’s Island (working title).
Produced by Fremantle, with major production investment from Screen Australia, the new original live-action series will premiere across Nickelodeon channels around the world, beginning early 2022. As part of the agreement, Nordic Entertainment Group is also a partner, premiering Taylor’s Island as an exclusive Viaplay Original on their Viaplay streaming service in the Nordic and Baltic markets.
