When Nico Waltenbury, Taylor Hummel and Sierra Mercer launched their Bay Bundle project last month, they aimed to sell 250 of the bags that support local businesses.
“We were looking at 250 as a super aspirational number,” Waltenbury said Saturday as he and Mercer finished packing the bags at Les Compagnons.

Waltenbury admits he thought 100 would be a more reasonable number.
They had 10 local vendors on board, and lots of support from Caisse Alliance. They even put together a two-week marketing campaign that “we had to throw out on Day 1,” Waltenbury says.
