Welcome to bbc news. Thousands of people have had to be rescued in and around the us city of houston, as waters continue to rise in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The areas expected to have received a years rainfall within a week. Helicopters have plucked victims from rooftops, as roads have been turned into rivers. And the flooding, already described as catastrophic in texas, is not only expected to get worse, its also expected to spread with concerns now for neighbouring louisiana.
