senate republicans unveiled details of their plan to overhaul the tax plan one week after the house colleagues released their own legislation. and obviously the listen they are up against the deadline if they want to deliver on getting compromise on putting a bill to the press by christmas. how do they compare? explain to us the big head line pieces senate versus house. well, this was a week of big progress in that the house and the senate each unveiled their tax reform proposal but each sort of the key point here, right, house has own plan, senate has own plan. and as you said they are somehow have to reconcile the two plans. so a couple of things how the two plans differ in key important areas. the number of tach brackets house plan has four, senate plan has seven. this issue has been hugely important. the state and local tax deductions whether those will stay in the tax reform bills.
we should be getting more detail from the senate side in the next hour, so we ll bring that to you. so let s take a deeper look in the tax plans house and senate. i have with me political analyst mark preston and actor economist ben stein, also the author of the capitalist code, it can save your life. so, gentleman, welcome. here we go. mark preston just first to you on some of the top lines coming out of the senate tax reform proposal. how do you see it? well, there are a couple things we have seen so far. one, it s very complicated what we are talking about now could very well change by 6:00 this evening. but a couple of things we are seeing that s coming out of the senate tax bill is, one, that it would keep deductions for the adoption, and medical expenses. it would allow for seven income brackets. and it would repeal all of the state and local taxes, including property taxes. that is a big issue for folks who live in states such as new
tender his registratisignation after we get tags taxes done, i ll step aside and have a revote. in an interview bannon accused house speaker and mitch mcconnell of trying to nullify votes. asked in an interview if the republican party has to choose between siding with the free trade and immigration reform policies of former president george w. bush or with the approach of trump. take a listen. is it going to be a choice for republicans, bush or trump? we already made that choice. we re with trump. we made that choice. that s a chase we made at the beginning of the year. we merged our agendas. we ran on a joint agenda with donald trump. we got together with donald trump when he was president elect trump and walked through what is it we want to accomplish in the next two years. we agreed on that agenda. processing that agenda. set to release tax reform
one-third of the voters overall said that he was a major factor in their opposition to voting for ed gel liillespie, the republican. ed gillespie kind of straddled that line with racially tinged ads with charlottesville. but when it cams to ms13 linking latinos with these communities. but ed gillespie the former rnc chair, counselor to george w. bush, he came kind of up with that bargain, can you run a trump-style campaign but never ever campaign with trump? the answer we saw last night was no. after the tweet, trump tweeted out gillespie should have embraced him. you kind of get the idea that trump threw him under the bus with that tweet. let s switch gears and talk about tax reform. the senate republicans set to release their tax reform proposal. what are you hearing about how
