democrats at the table negotiating tax reform. you have a the lo of democrats who want to negotiate a tax reform bill. president trump put together a tax reform proposal in his budget when he was president. democrats are not going to vote for a bill that they have thrown at them and they have raised taxes, these are facts, raises taxes on lower income people, while slashes taxes drastically for high income people and corporations. so talking about different things here. i m curious, going back to the white house, how does the president navigate, huge win that the budget committee passed this along party lines, but passed it, so we know it will go to the floor. how does the president choose his words to address this in a matter of minutes? well, it will be interesting to see what tact he takes here. often when he talks about the process and the way forward on both taxes, whether it s on the
i think what they should remind him is at least during the reagan administration when there was also a tax reform proposal pushed forward, via legislation, that there were hearings and tax experts allowed to testify and people were allowed to criticize the process within due time. right now we re in a situation where because the president has no substantial legislative achievement under his belt, we are pushing through without real consideration for the lives of the poor people in this country who will be substantially impacted as well as small business owners and the middle class, all for the sake of having a legislative achievement. and i think that all legislative achievements are not made the same, but we definitely need to slow down this process so that people have the opportunity to really see what s in this tax bill. i would argue there are some proponents of this bill that don t know how it would impact some of their constituents. therein lies the problem.
