a second, we ve had the va, which you brought up. we ve had the income tax, the tax problem over at the irs. there have been a number of things and the president just sort of, the administration looked like it wasn t on top of it. having said that, on picks are a lot in politics. do you think it is a mistake for the president not to have gone to the border this week when he was in texas because it may make him look uninvolved? fair or not? i wish he would have come to the border. i wish he would have visited mccallan texas, ground zero for the refugees fleeing central america. i wish he came to my district of el paso, thousands of member members, border patrol, i.c.e., helping to take care of the families and reunite them and make sure they re okay in this vulnerable time in their lives, and i think it would have sent an important message to the rest of the country about how seriously he takes this issue
and role. my constituents see the president who used to be their state u.s. senator saying if you don t like what i m doing, sue me, that s not the type of pejorative i mean that s a problem the reason that we re suing him is because he s out of bound. he s not following the rule of law. they re facing whiplash on their health care policy because they don t know what because the rules keep checking. let me ask this for a second. when you look at the border question, for instance, and there is a lot of question about why can t you pass an immigration bill, but i think the question now is, where is that leadership? the thing that republicans have been hitting the president on for some time now has been, wait a second, we ve had the va, which you brought up. we ve had the income tax, the tax problem over at the irs. there have been a number of things and the president just sort of, the administration
when they meet you online or through a search. a problem had a tax problem 20 years ago and they were resolved. he is saying when someone searches my name is that the first thing they see about me? what about someone accused of something and it wasn t true and it becomes the first thing that comes up? you re talking about what comes up on the page when you google, like, i m googling myself. everyone does. it has it hasn t it s got things on that i wouldn t consider my latest or greatest adventures in life. and twitter legs comes up in the search. the prop also is another case it can be self-fulfilling and prejudicial. the court in europe said you have to respect people s right to want to control what people see about them online and google is such the way that everyone kind of accesses the world. like, accesses when they meet people, you google dates and you google yourself. in that sense it s important.
the tax problem. kind of know he didn t know about the irs. i think he would really have a fit if he knew he had owed any money. she had their income tax returns prepared each year. she actually took them to bob and had him sign these returns. in his mind, he believed that everything was taken care of. amy could put off investigators for only so long. they demanded a meeting with her and bob the morning of bob s murder. there was no choice. they were coming that morning and she knew it. within a few short hours after her husband had been murdered, amy had the wherewithal to make the call to that irs agent. she said, sorry, we re not going to be able to meet with you today, bob s been murdered.
that is almost half a billion we spend each year just on interest payments. boy, that can go a long way to solving a lot of problems we have. it s just wasteful. chuck, is it a spending problem or are we having a tax problem, a revenue problem? i think still it s the combination of both. i think the problem overall is people don t understand billions and trillions. i do politics for a living. i give people electives for a living. i think the biggest thing, if you are where i am right now rnlth ask them what a trillion dollars is, they will wonder if that s how much they should be putting on their basketball right now. congress thinks they can do whatever they want, spend all the money kay they can, there is no accountability. people can t relate with those kind of numbers, in polling we do every single day, debt is not on the top of transitional voters who make the difference in these elections. i m not saying it s right or wrong, people have to be focused on this for the long te
