Topu may lead against Oman

Veteran defender Topu Barman is likely to lead Bangladesh against Oman in their last match of the joint qualifiers round two for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 on June 15 after their regular skipper Jamal Bhuyan was suspended for the match.
Jamal, left-back Rahmat Mia and midfielder Biplu Ahmed are the three Bangladeshi booters to miss their final match of Group E at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha as they received a suspension after getting yellow cards in their last match against India, the second time in the ongoing joint qualifiers campaign.

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings and runners-up Dhaka Abahani Limited will lock horns with each other today in a high-voltage match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League football match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital at 4:00pm.
Holders maintained an unbeaten run to 11 matches in the league and consolidated the top spot with 31 points from 10 wins and a draw. The star-studded club scored 28 goals and conceded only 4. Kings’ Brazilian forward Robson Azevedo Da Silva Robinho currently leading the top scorers list in netting 12 goals including a hat-trick.

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Federation Cup champions Bashundhara Kings completed players registration formalities for the upcoming domestic football season 2020-21 at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House in the capital a day before the last day of registration window on Monday.
Kings Head of Strategy and Planning Bayazid Alam Zubair Nipu told The Daily Sun that they registered a total of 28 players including 13 national booters and 4 foreigners. “Players are all fit and ready to play. There are no other serious injuries except Sushanto Tripura and Tariq Raihan Kazi. They may not be able to play in Federation Cup. Topu Barman got injured during Bangladesh-Qatar match, but he is recovering,” he added.
