GE Gas Power said it has been signed up by Taweelah Asia Power Company (Tapco), the owner of the largest independent utility plant in the UAE, to provide a range of asset and performance services at its power and desalination complex in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) said it has entered into the operations and maintenance of Taweelah B independent power and water project and also acquired an additional stake in the Abu Dhabi plant as part of its regional expansion strategy.

Abu Dhabi’s energy sector has a total available electricity generation capacity of 16,701 MW while the total electricity generated was 84,740 GWh in 2020, says the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE).
