POTSDAM - Shane Rogers, an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering in Clarkson University s Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering, was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award during the University s spring 2021 commencement ceremonies.
The $1,500 prize is given in recognition of the importance of superior teaching. Candidates are nominated for the award by Clarkson alumni, and the final selection is made by a faculty committee.
Rogers teaches undergraduate courses in environmental biotechnology, water and wastewater engineering, sustainable water resources management, and environmental engineering.
Rogers is a Fulbright Scholar, in 2013 he received the Tau Beta Pi Faculty Award, the Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Award in 2011, and the Clarkson University Student Association Outstanding Teacher Award in 2010. In 2009 he was awarded the American Society for Engineering Education and the St. Lawrence Sec
