Bridget Middleton has never known anyone who has won a sweepstakes. That is, until she did.
The 47-year-old, stay-at-home mom of two won a $10,000 second-place prize in Gannett Media’s Ultimate Home Makeover Sweepstakes in May. She was one of four winners randomly selected from 110,000 unique email entries submitted by hopefuls across the nation.
The sweepstakes’ prizes totaled $50,000 with one first-place winner receiving $50,000, two second-place winners receiving $10,000 and one third-place winner taking home $5,000.
Eric Wygle, The Columbus Dispatch’s Marketing, Promotions and Community Affairs Manager, who doled out Middleton’s check, said that prizewinners reactions follow a specific pattern. (The Dispatch is owned by Gannett Media.)
