The event was also attended by representatives of the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus. The parties explored promising avenues of cooperation in the field of financing sustainable development.
At present the SMEs include about 113,000 legal persons and about 262,000 self-employed businessmen. The SME sector accounts for nearly one third of Belarus' GDP, a third of the total number of workers, one fifth of the industrial output, over 40% of the merchandise export, and about half of the export of services.
There is a steady positive trend in trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and the Chinese city of Chongqing, Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich said during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress Qu Qian.
Combining the potentials of business unions of Belarus and Russia will help promote exports to new markets, Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich said.
