BERKELEY – This weekend promises to be a full weekend of excellent college basketball as the Cal women's basketball team hosts the semi-annual Raising the B.A.R. Invitational powered by Cal. The two-day, four-game tournament begins when the Bears (4-0) take on Furman (4-1, 0-0 SoCon) in game one of Friday's double-header. Ole Miss (4-1, 0-0 SEC) will battle SDSU (4-1, 0-0 Mountain West) at 3:00 p.m. The consolation and championships games will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. PT and 3:00 p.m.

UTC found itself on the short end of a 58-40 decision against Furman in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 Ingles Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Championship presented by General Shale Brick at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville.
Bria Dial, playing her final game for the Mocs, led the way with 12 points and junior Eboni Williams added 11 points along with a team-high eight rebounds and four steals. Abbey Cornelius tallied four blocked shots along with five points and six rebounds.
The Mocs’ 40 points was a season low and the fewest since scoring 38 against N.C. State in 2019. From the field Chattanooga struggled, making just 17-of-55 (30.9%) and was just 1-of-18 from the 3-point line.

Furman Holds On To Beat UTC Women 52-46 Sunday, January 17, 2021 The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga fell 52-46 at Furman Sunday afternoon in Southern Conference women’s basketball action, snapping the Mocs five-game win streak. UTC moves to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in league play while Furman improves to 5-7 on the year and earn its first SoCon victory to improve to 1-2. The Mocs got out to a quick start leading 11-4 in the opening frame, but the Paladins struck back, outscoring UTC 9-2 over the final 2:19 of the period to tie it up 13-13 after the first.
