As part of Thursday's approval, the county agreed to pay a private owner $19.2 million for the two Ottawa Towers office buildings in the southern part of downtown, vacant land as well as a long-term lease of the Phoenix Center parking structure and amphitheater.
The county is attempting to buy the two-building Ottawa Towers to turn at least one of the properties into a central business district hub as part of a $19.2 million purchase agreement.
