Indian Army columns have evacuated over 11,000 civilians, provided water and rations to 7,000 individuals, and given medical assistance to over 1,500 residents stranded by floods. The Western Command responded to requests for assistance from the governments of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, evacuating civilians, students, and personnel from these states. Flood rescue and relief operations began on July 10 in Punjab, with 26 columns deployed and a total of 69 officers, 172 JCOs, and 1,720 ORs involved in relief efforts. The Indian Army continues to work closely with local administration to provide immediate assistance.
