The Auckland Indian Association’s women’s wing, Mahila Samaj, put up a grand show at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Auckland Saturday last week to celebrate the golden anniversary of its formation in 1971. The Auckland Indian Association itself is celebrating its centenary this year.
The 50-year-old women’s group has grown over the decades to become a useful and thriving network of support and friendship among women of the Kiwi Indian community.
