This is presented each year in April, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, to a person who goes above and beyond their duty to assure the overall safety and well-being of children and families.
During Child Abuse Prevention Month, there usually are various activities that take place to bring awareness to the community about the need for everyone to play a role in the protection of children. This year, though, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all of these activities were canceled and the presentation of the award was significantly delayed.
