Opinion: Anyone who co-parents will know how finely balanced a situation it can be at the best of times. Liadán Hynes writes about how the pandemic threw things into disarray, and how she has coped since. The kids are out the back enjoying the weather; they just think it s a holiday, my friend told me as we chatted on the phone. It was several days after the schools had closed, in those first few weeks of the pandemic where the world suddenly seemed unfathomably scary.
As of yet (this was pre-home-schooling), my friend’s children had barely noticed anything was going on. Mine, in contrast, was showing signs of anxiety totally unlike herself.
