(Photo courtesy of GBI) SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said a man was shot and killed by police on Saturday in Spalding County.  The man killed was 29-year-old Stephen Neil Weigand from Griffin. Police said he attempted to evade arrest and led officers from multiple law enforcement agencies on a cross-county chase before aiming a gun at officers. 

Pavement licence extension for East Lancashire s pubs and cafes will aid recovery of hospitality industry

Gary Perkins who runs Spitfire, Bank, Taps and the Vault in Darwen and the Arden Inn, Accrington Pavement licences for venues with little or no outdoor dining spaces are being extended for a further 12 months in order to support the recovery of the hospitality industry. On Monday, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick confirmed he will extend provisions for temporary pavement licences to help high streets re-open safely once lockdown restrictions are lifted. Details of the announcement, which is still subject to parliamentary approval, were included in a letter sent by Mr Jenrick to local councils urging them to do ‘everything possible’ to get ready for the reopening of the country’s high streets.
