The government doesn t realise that these humble farmers also have the power to oust arrogant rulers, he said. Yadav was addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat organised by his party at Tappal here in support of the ongoing farmers agitation against the Centre s three new agricultural laws. “During the pandemic, we were advised to cover our mouth and nose, but it seems the BJP people covered their eyes and ears as well. That’s why they could not see the plight of the farmers and listen to their demands,” said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday.
He was addressing a kisan panchayat in Tappal area of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. This was the first such panchayat held by the Samajwadi Party against the contentious farm laws.

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against all the four accused involved in the murder of Amrish Sharma, a potato grower of village Nauzarpur under Sasni police station area in Hathras.
According to the police, an FIR was registered against four accused, two of whom have been arrested.
As per the police sources, Amrish Sharma was shot dead by hoodlums including Gaurav Songra and his friends following an altercation as the accused was mounting pressure on the deceased to withdraw a case which the latter had got registered against him for allegedly molesting his daughter in 2018.
