Huawei, BUET sign deal to open first ICT Academy in Bangladesh

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Vice-President Linzhijun and BUET Vice-Chancellor Dr Satya Prasad Majumder exchange documents after signing an MoU at BUET Council Building in the capital on Thursday.
Huawei has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to set up the first ICT Academy on the BUET campus.
The special ICT Academy will be equipped with connectivity through which BUET students will have the opportunity to communicate with more than 1,200 instructors from around the world.
There will be 83 certification programmes on 19 different subjects, said a press release.

Technology (BUET) and Huawei, a leading global provider of information and
communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, are going
to set up first ever ICT academy in the country.
With the aim to provide young ICT students in Bangladesh an opportunity to
carve a niche for them in the global professional market, the academy would
be established at BUET, a press release said here today.
A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two
parties on Thursday. Vice President of Enterprise Business Group in Huawei
Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited Lin zhi jun and Vice-Chancellor of
Tao Guangyao, COO of Huawei Bangladesh was present during the signing, among others.
This academy will be set up on Buet campus by April this year.
There will be connectivity through which Buet students can communicate with over 1,200 instructors from around the world. The course and certification will be coordinated by Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA), which is basically the Huawei-BUET ICT Academy in Bangladesh, the press release said. Education, especially ICT education, is very important for the progress of any country. The steps that Huawei and Buet are going to take to accelerate this journey are very promising, said Mohibul.
