The public have just a few days to make their views known on the proposals by Kerry County Council (KCC) for an extension to the car park in Waterville.
A campaign group opposed to the plans are calling on people to make their views known in a bid to save the green area on the promenade, a small section of which the council intends to use as a car park.
The car park plans are available for viewing on the council s website and submissions can be made until January 8. A report will then be brought before councillors in the Kenmare Municipal District, to decide on the future of the project. While there is some opposition, others support the plan, which they say is necessary to encourage tourists to stop in the village.
