Arranged and hosted by Tanvir Tareq and produced by RJ Uday Chowdhury, the special episodes will air for three days at 10 pm from Eid day. I am selective about attending chat shows, as most topics are usually not well discussed, however, Tanvir is an exception in this case. DHAKA, Jan 17, 2021, (BSS) – Recalling the contributions of Bangabandhu to the making of the country’s film industry an effective media for social awakening, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving new life to the country’s film industry.
“Bangladesh will reach its dream destination by 2041 under her (Sheikh Hasina’s) dynamic leadership and the filmdom would not only get back its past golden time, but also occupy a dignified position in the global screenland,” he said.
The minister made the comments while giving his speech as the chair at National Film Award-2019 giving function at Bangabandhu International Conference Center at Agargaon in the capital.

Make more films on Liberation War to let people know true history: PM

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2021 (BSS) – Stating that her government would do everything necessary for survival of the country’s cinema industry, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today urged all concerned to make more films on the Liberation War as the generation after generation could know the real history of Bangladesh’s emergence as an independent nation.
“I request you all concerned to make more films on the Liberation War as the generation after generation can know the real history of our victory as the history was distorted with the assassination of the Father of the Nation on August 15, 1975,” she said.
PM to distribute Nat’l Film Awards 2019 today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will distribute the prestigious National Film Awards among its recipients on Sunday in 26 categories for the year 2019.
The awards will be handed over at a colourful ceremony to be held at Bangabandhu Inter national Conference Centre (BICC).
The premier will attend the programme virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.
The Ministry of Information earlier announced names of the recipients of the National Film Awards 2019 to recognise the contributions of artistes to Bangladesh film industry.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to renowned actors Masud Parvez (Sohel Rana) and Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda for their remarkable contributions to the film industry.
