Bravo to the University of Jamestown women s volleyball team, which made it to the semifinals of the NAIA national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
Bravo to the Jamestown High School and Jamestown Middle School Chess Club for placing second in the team division at the North Dakota State Scholastic Chess Tournament. The high school and middle school teams each earned the honor, and freshman Dovud Sulaymonov earned runner-up status in the high school individual division, winning four of five chess matches.

DES MOINES, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – #4 Jamestown opened up the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Championship pool play on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-21) win over Georgetown College (KY).
Five Jimmies tallied at least seven kills as Caylor Cox led the way with 10 kills and a .409 attack percentage. Austin Jacob led Jamestown in attack percentage by hitting .875 with seven kills and three blocks. The GPAC Player of the Year Derek Owens finished with seven kills and hit .667 for the match. Jamestown as a team recorded a .309 attack percentage for the match en route to their 21st win of the season.
