KOTA KINABALU: Sandakan MP Vivian Wong has lodged a police report after her belongings were stolen from inside a car parked at the Sandakan general market on Saturday (Jan 2).
The DAP elected representative was earlier distributing 2021 calendars to sellers and visitors of the general market in downtown Sandakan together with state acting DAP chief Datuk Frankie Poon who is also Tanjung Papat assemblyman.
“We and our comrades from DAP were going around near the (Sandakan) town since 7.30am.
“I left the canvas bag containing my purse and some make up inside the Axia car which was used as our Pusat Khidmat vehicle, parked at the general market parking lot.

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government should push forward to help the local tourism industry by giving them bigger grants and low interest rate loans expediently, according to Tanjung Papat Assemblyman, Datuk Frankie Poon.

“The current Covid-19 pandemic is an excellent time to intensely promote local tourism. Give incentives to them and locals to encourage civil servants to travel to local tourism spots. Indirectly jobs are created or at the very least help to retain staff in this industry,” he said.
He said this when debating the 2021 State Budget at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Monday.

SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) has been urged to continue assisting tenants of premises in Menara MPS by reducing their monthly rentals to ease their burden during these challenging times.

Tanjung Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon made the call after visiting Menara MPS to listen to the plights of tenants occupying its premises whose businesses have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
MPS had earlier waived the rentals for premises in Menara MPS for six months from April.
