The All Blacks have decided to park up the team’s mauri stone at the All Blacks Experience at SkyCity when they are not playing.
The pounamu boulder, which was found by Gaye Tauwhare of Ngāti Waewae in the Arahura River near Hokitika, was gifted to the team by Ngāi Tahu before the 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign, and it has since accompanied the team wherever they play, at home or overseas.
It was handed over yesterday by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Waewae at a dawn ceremony in which Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei assisted.
